Terms of use

Who can use it

Students in classes 3 to 12, with a parent's or guardian's consent. Parents, guardians and teachers must be 18 or older. Teachers can only teach after we have verified them.

Tokens

• Everything is priced in tokens. ₹1 buys 1 token; some packs include bonus tokens.
• Tokens can only be used on Shiksit. They cannot be transferred to another person, exchanged for cash or withdrawn. They are a closed-system prepaid instrument.
• Paid tokens expire 365 days after purchase. Free tokens (sign-up and monthly) expire after 30 days and can only be used for AI answers.
• Current prices: AI explanation 5 tokens (a worksheet: 1 more for each further question), translation 2, follow-up 1. Live sessions cost the teacher's rate for the length chosen and need paid tokens.
• A parent can set a monthly spending limit for each child.

Live sessions

• Every live session is recorded. Parents can watch the recording.
• The student is heard but never seen: the student's camera is never switched on.
• Teachers are independent educators who offer sessions through Shiksit; they are not our employees.
• Contact details and payments outside Shiksit are not allowed. The chat blocks phone numbers, links and social-media handles, and repeated attempts are reported to us.

AI answers

AI answers can be wrong. Use them to understand the method, and check important answers with a teacher. Only study questions are answered.

Ending or limiting access

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, puts a child at risk or misuses payments. Unused paid tokens on an account closed for our own reasons are refunded to the original payment method.

Liability and law

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before it. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [City] have jurisdiction.
